Frozen shoulder is classified into 3 stages:

- Adhesive Stage: The shoulder becomes increasingly stiff and pay may not diminish. It does not usually worse like painful stage.
- Thawing Stage: Under this stage, movement in the shoulder begins. Pain may or may not be worse in this stage.
